Implementation of a constitutive model for powder compaction into the Abaqus code
Luleå University of Technology.
1999 (English)Report (Other academic)
Abstract [en]

The ability to simulate metal powder compaction is of great interest for the production of sintered parts. A model issued from soil mechanics has been implemented into a finite element code called DYNA2D. The aim of this project was to implement this model into another code: ABAQUS/Explicit. This work has been done with success. The results from the two codes have been compared through two simple numerical simulations and give full satisfaction.
