Abstract [en]

This paper will offer a picture of the current Swedish higher educational system and the influences from government, industry and society which have to it taking its present form. The structure and presentation of undergraduate degrees in Manufacturing Engineering at Lueå University of Technology will also be described along with a discussion of the problems and challenges that are currently being faced by Lueå and the other technical universities in Sweden.
